ENTE PARCO DELLE MADONIE

The Ente Parco delle Madonie(EPM) is a public institution, no profit, established pursuant to and for the purposes referred to in the regional law 6 May 1981 n. 98 and subsequent amendments and additions, with Decree of the Regional Councilor for the Territory and Environment no. 1089 of November 9, 1989.The "Parco Delle Madonie" covers an area of approx. 40,000 hectares and includes 15 municipalities, Petralia Sottana, Petralia Soprana, Geraci Siculo, San Mauro Castelverde, Pollina, Cefalù, Collesano, Isnello, Polizzi Generosa, Castellana Sicula, Scillato, Sclafani Bagni, Caltavuturo, Castelbuono. Gratteri, all falling within the province of Palermo.

The park is ubicated in north-central Sicily between the Tyrrhenia Sea in the north, the Imera river in the west, the Pollina

river in the est and the cities of SclafaniBagni, Caltavuturo,Polizzi Generosa, CastellanaSicula e lePetraliein the south.

Madonie Geopark is a member of the European Geoparks Network and the UNESCO GGN.
